ITS is pushing an update to Windows computers next week. This is happening because the University’s Active Directory, the database which manages user accounts and groups, is being reorganized.

Action Required:

On your Division’s assigned date (see below), when you leave work close all of your open applications and logout...but leave your computer ON. Your computer is going to reboot at 10 p.m. which is why it’s important to close and save your work.

On May 3, a worldwide phishing incident happened where people were invited to click a “shared” Google Drive document. Once people clicked the link, they were then asked to allow access to their account so they could access the Google Doc. It was a “bait & switch,” so to speak.

Several systems and applications will be unavailable starting Friday evening, May 19 through Saturday afternoon, May 20. The majority will be unavailable beginning 6 p.m. Friday, May 19 through 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, due to scheduled electrical work. One other system, NinerScholars, will be down on Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m.

These timeframes were chosen since they fall between Commencement and the start of summer classes, minimizing impact.

A few weeks ago, everyone’s S & J drive file paths were redirected to new file paths. This was done as prep work to move the files to new hardware (similar to what happened with H drive files in December). This said, the S & J drive files will now move to new hardware on Monday evening, March 27, starting at 10 pm.  The move is expected to end by 6 am the following morning. Please note, your files will be “read-only” during the move.
