UNC Charlotte students are not required to own a computer (except those in the College of Arts + Architecture and the College of Engineering), however, many students find it helpful and convenient to do so. If you plan to purchase a computer, UNC Charlotte has partnered with Dell, HP and Apple to offer discounted pricing in their online student stores.

You can also visit the NinerTech Computer Store in the Student Union to purchase a computer on campus. These computers are configured to last through a 4-year stay at the University, to provide maximum performance and to take advantage of current technologies. You are in no way obligated to purchase a computer through these programs.

Borrow a Laptop

Need to borrow a laptop? Both Atkins Library and the Student Union have laptops available for students to check-out.
