The University Remote Access service allows faculty and staff members to securely access internal UNC Charlottes private network over the public Internet or on-campus via the wireless network. This service is provided using Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology which encrypts and secures data transmissions between your computer and the University network. The VPN service provides users with a UNC Charlotte IP address, thereby making access to restricted services possible. VPN service allows university affiliates to connect to the campus from any available network connection almost anywhere.

Cisco VPN Client must be downloaded to your workstation or laptop.
Availability: This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the exception of upgrades, maintenance, and scheduled outages. Outages are posted in ITS Alerts.Cisco VPN
