Active Directory
Service Description: The University's Active Directory enables secure access to central and departmental applications using the NinerNet username and password. The underlying directory is often referred to as LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol). Other directory information such as the UNC Charlotte role, (e.g., student, faculty or staff) permits access to specific services within 49er Express and other campus services.

Cost: Funding for this service is managed by ITS.
Availability: This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the exception of upgrades, maintenance, and scheduled outages. Outages are posted in ITS Alerts.
