At approximately 8:05 a.m. on Dec. 15, a phishing email disguised as from the Chancellor's office was sent to .uncc addresses. The title was "Important Announcement from Chancellor Philip L. Dubois" and it had an attachment. If you received this email, delete it, do not click on it. If you clicked on the attachment, change your NinerNET password immediately. Should you need assistance or have questions, please contact the IT Service Desk at x. 7-5500.

Due to a network infrastructure upgrade, there will be a brief campus-wide outage at 5 a.m. on December 21 lasting up to 30 minutes.

The date and early morning time were selected to minimize customer impact as much as possible while access to campus-wide systems are unavailable. Systems include: computers, internet, web, voice, networking and other electronic services. This outage will occur on Main campus, the Foundation Building, Center City Building and Research Park campus.

Duo two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of data security for University faculty and staff. It works like this: once a person has entered their NinerNET username and password, they're asked to further verify their identity with one more step. The customer chooses which step they want, such as accepting a request sent to their mobile phone.
